 | Stina Persson is an internationally recognized artist and illustrator based in Stockholm, Sweden.
She studied fine art in Perugia, fashion drawing in Florence, and illustration at the Pratt Institute
in New York, where she earned her degree. Her various student awards include two consecutive
scholarships from the Society of Illustrators. Her art has been exhibited in several group and solo shows in New York and Japan, including her most recent solo show at Gallery Hanahou in New York.
Stina’s mixed media approach to art and illustration has made her an editorial and commercial favorite worldwide. Her watercolors are both dreamlike and empowered. Her cut-out illustrations,a play on traditional ceremonial Mexican cut paper designs, are exiting explorations in pattern and
visual story-telling.
The New Yorker, Vogue, Nylon, and Flaunt are among the many magazines to feature Stina’s work.
She has also been featured in international compilation books on art and illustration as a leader in her field, including, among many, The Age of Feminine Drawing, Remastered, The Fundamentals of Illustration, The Picture Book: Contemporary Illustration, and Fashion Illustration Next. Stina’s commercial clients have included Coca Cola, Absolute Vodka, Godiva Chocolatier, Sony Music,
Urban Decay, and Nike. |
