 | Yoshi Tajimi is a widely published artist and graphic designer who lives in Japan. She studied at Temple University in Japan, where she earned her degree, and the American Intercontinental
University in London. Toko founded and acts as Director for Radio, a Tokyo based design studio.
Yoshi uses the computer to manipulate work she first executes in pencil, ink, watercolor,and collage.
Her style explores fantasy and the balance between the raw and the beautiful. Her portraits are often ethereal, layered, and include a mix of decorative elements that
whimsically enhance the subject. The air of the feminine is a frequent theme in Yoshi’s work.
Yoshi’s work has been featured in such magazines as Nylon, Numero, and Vogue, among others. Her work was also included in such books as The Great Escape: Compilation of
Illustration and Photography, The Age of Feminine Drawing, and The Creator Studio. Yoshi has exhibited internationally and was most recently part of the group shows “Rojo” at Smarthouse,LA, and “Up Our Sleeve” at Rocket Gallery in Tokyo. |
